About Green Finance Summit

The Green Finance Summit is an annual platform dedicated to advancing sustainable and inclusive financial solutions across Papua New Guinea and the Pacific region.
Anchored in Papua New Guinea’s Inclusive Green Finance Policy (IGFP) and its Implementation Roadmap. Launched by Prime Minister Hon. James Marape in June 2023, the Summit serves as a key driver in translating national commitments into actionable outcomes. The establishment of the Green Finance Centre (GFC) in March 2024 further strengthened this vision, positioning the Centre as the lead body coordinating efforts and delivering impact through initiatives such as this Summit.
Bringing together senior government leaders, financial institutions, development partners, and private sector stakeholders from across the Pacific and global markets, the Summit fosters collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange. It provides a space to explore practical climate finance solutions, unlock investment opportunities, and accelerate the transition toward resilient, inclusive, and sustainable economies.
As a recurring annual event, the Green Finance Summit continues to build momentum, strengthen partnerships, and position Papua New Guinea as a regional leader in green and inclusive finance.
